need long distance relationship help please!!!!?
I’m head over heels for a boy who lives on the edge of Washington D.C and Maryland. But we have one issue… I live in New York. I need to see him except we’re only in High School and neither of us have our licenses yet and to take a train to D.C or even be driven there is a long trip…4 hours each way…and would probably require staying the night. If he came to New York I know he couldn’t stay at my house and his parents wouldn’t let him stay at a hotel alone…but if I went to D.C he said I could stay at his house in the guest room…but I kind of feel awkward doing that…I’ve never met his family before and I think I would just feel awkward and I don’t want to have to deal with going to dinner with his family and everything.
ADVICE
Couple months ago, I dated a girl who lived about 1200 miles (12+ hrs) away. I lived in Missouri, she lived in Boston, MA…there was no feasible or realistic way of ever seeing each other, yet we continued the relationship for a few months. The ultimate and almost inevitable fact- long distance relationships are virtually guaranteed to fail.
Phone sex can only do so much, ya know? Not being able to physically be with them makes the relationship almost pointless. Even if you arrange a way to get to him, how often can you do that? Once a month? Twice? Even three or four times a month wouldn’t be enough to sustain a relationship. You two don’t even have your drivers license yet, how long are you willing to wait? It hurts waiting for something that will probably never happen.
